The Breastplate of the Dragons
In the town of Nordak lived a great
adventurer named Bolgam. He was out looking one day for some monsters to fight when he
stumbled into an old man, who was a traveler. He told Bolgam of many treasures he had
heard of that were protected by guardians. Bolgam was naturally interested so he asked to
know more, so the traveler gave him a mystical book he wrote that had spells in it. The
man said he couldn't give it to him unless he got a price. Bolgam gladly gave him 2,000
copper pieces and left with the book. When he got home he read it intently. The next day
he went to the town shop and bought a pack, shield, knife, food, and armour. That was all
he could buy at the time so he left heading or a kingdom called Persellite, because, it
was near the Valley of Flame, which is where the dragons live. In the book there is an
ancient dragon that holds their breastplate. It is magical armour that protects against
almost anything.
He is now in Persellite Castle, and asks the king for his services in
getting it. The king agrees, but he must repay him afterwards. The king gives him the
password to a secret room. Bolgam goes to the room and finds three piles of bones and an
incantation, which he adds to the book. He then casts it and the bones came to life as
three skeletons. One of which is a fire warrior, the other has strong, super sharp claws,
and the last is partially mechanical. He also got more money to buy a helmet, bracers, and
leggings.
Two days later they sent out for the valley in a boat. They got there
that evening, tied their boat down, went in about 700 yards, and set up camp. The next
morning they left for the dragons' lair. Then, they went inside and it was huge they tried
to keep as quiet as possible so as not to wake the dragons. They got to the end of the
giant hall and found a room as big as a castle. In it was the Ancient One standing as
alert as ever. They went in and he spotted them and sent out a sound of danger, awakening
all of the dragons. Then, Bolgam and the skeletons attacked the ancient one. Bolgam jumped
up on the dragon and slashed at his skin. The fire warrior skeleton blasted his fiery
vengeance at stalactites above so as to block off the entrance from the other dragons.
Just then a dragon flew in and got buried by the falling rocks. The sharp clawed skeleton
sliced his wings so he couldn't fly, and the mechanical one climbed up the wall, jumped on
his head, and stabbed through one of his eyeballs. Then, the dragon swallowed the fire
warrior, grabbed the mechanical one, and threw Bolgam against the wall. Bolgam turned
around and casted one of the spells out of the book called "slow" and the dragon
could hardly move. They took this opportunity to strike at his heart and they did, and he
died revealing the breastplate so Bolgam put it on. All at once he felt almost invincible.
Then all of the other dragons rushed in and saw that the mighty one had
fallen, and they were all furious. They started spitting fire all over the place lighting
it up like a fireplace or a burning village made of wood and straw. They were not a match
for Bolgam now so he and the skeletons slaughtered a few of the dragons, and then Bolgam
found out that he could converse with the dragons now that he had the breastplate. He got
them to calm down and commanded them to carry them back to the mainland. Also to stay with
them until their journey is complete. They do and are now back in Persellite where they
are holding conference with the king. In there they told him that they found about 27,000
gold pieces, and asked if he could keep the skeletons and give him the money. The king
agreed to his terms and allowed them safe passage to the next village of Torzug, which is
an Elven town.
